There is something about sequins that just make me feel instantly better. For a meeting (fashion-based), I wore this gold sequined jacket that I had bought nearly three years ago. I kept the rest of my outfit very simple; total black. I did add some red lipstick to give my look a little va-va-voom. I also put my hair in a knot-bun, something I’m not usually one to sport. I’m all curls or straight hair, so testing new ways to “update” my hair is always fun!
As you all know, or at least those who read my post on my recent graduation, I had a little graduation party. On the contrary, nobody was break dancing or going crazy. It was a small intimate dinner followed by some lounging and some champagne sipping. For my graduation party I wore this dress I snagged at Forever 21 (I know, F21 as a graduation dress? Just wait!). When I saw it, it looked a LOT more expensive than it was. I was apprehensive to try it on, but I did. Instantly, I fell in love. It had a very Chanel inspired look to it and the light sparkle really made this dress, the one.
It was such a great party and once again, THANK YOU to all my friends and family for making that night so magical!
As Christmas is quickly approaching I have been on the hunt for presents for everyone but me! Well, I decided to take a break from scouring the world for the perfect present for my mother, father, boyfriend and best friends to figure out what I would truly want.
These are just a few of the “realistic” items I would want (I could dream for more Louboutin’s, Chanel & Balenciaga purses this year!). These are in no particular order:
1. Alexander McQueen Leopard Skull Scarf
I have a few already (I’m quite the McQueen addict), but I have yet to get a leopard scarf. Although I know I could always opt for a simple $30 leopard scarf, nothing feels sexier than the silky material of a McQueen scarf. Also, I love skulls so a mix of wild animal print and rock star skulls just tickles my fancy in a way that just can’t be described.
2. Chanel Resin Cuff with Metal & Strass
Let’s just say I’ve always wanted a piece of Chanel jewelery. I would love a lovely pearl or onyx double layer necklace, but a cuff is something I would wear more often (actually, it’s probably more reasonable than a necklace, hence it’s on my Christmas list!). A sexy cuff will always look chic whether it’s worn with jeans and a t-shirt, or a dress!
3. Micheal Kors “Runway” Silver Watch
I have had a lovely gold watch from Micheal Kors for about a year now, and I love it! The only downfall, I am usually stuck with wearing gold jewelry. This year, I’d like a silver watch in order to have the option to choose which metal I want to wear. After all, I’m always late for everything…the more watches I have only means one thing; I can potentially be on time. I also like the more “masculine” appearance of this. My gold one is super “feminine” so it would be nice to mix it up.
4. Celine “AUDREY” Sunglasses in Tortoise/Brown
I have been dying for these specs all summer. As I was in France, I went into almost every optical store hunting these gorgeous frames out. I even went into Celine stores and they were sold out of the color I wanted. It was heartbreaking. Hopefully Santa can see how hard I have been working this year and stuff these in my stockings! That would be amazing…
5. Hermes Reversible Belt in Black/Orange with Gold Brushed “H”
Call me crazy, but for the past two years I have not been able to get my hands on one. I need the smallest size as I’m a 25″ waist, but this item of luxurious leather is hard to find. Hopefully Santa snagged one for me…if not…bummer! One day…
6. Gift Cards Galore!
I love the physical act of shopping. And I love not having to pay for my shopping (who doesn’t?). So Santa, if you’re reading this, please get some fun and festive gift cards to the following stores(or just one, I won’t be picky!): Forever 21, Lulu*s, H & M, ALDO, Bloomingdale’s, Sephora…I mean, you know me pretty well Santa.
I know the word “realistic” may have confused you all, hence the ” “. This wish list for Christmas is fantasy, but I still believe in Daddy Clause! Just kidding!
Stay tuned for a CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY from Le Fashion Monster & Blush Boutique!
Sweater dresses are the perfect Fall staple as they allow you keep it casual during the day or sassy for a night out. This basic sweater dress I’m wearing is one of my favorites. Earlier in the day I paired it with ballet flats, a leather motorcycle jacket and a leopard structured bag. The outfit below was for my night out and I kept it simple. I added a funky belt with black and gold details and my over-sized Chanel quilted bag. I threw on a pair of sky-high black heels to elongate my legs and of course, make me taller. The sexiness of the fitted dress and the heels really make this a perfect date night outfit. The best part? It’s comfortable…nothing like a soft blanket that fits like a glove and keeps you warm, yet still manages to make you look sexy.
October 10th 2010, I was able to host a great gathering of fashion bloggers in the Los Angeles are, as well as some close friends for a pre-fashion week event that was held at Blush Boutique.
It’s weird because instead of going by my real name; Deniz Senkan, I was hosting the event as Le Fashion Monster.
The event was a first for me because I had never hosted or thrown an event before except for clients for the boutique (which I also work at). The event was a success and I was grateful for the lovely bloggers who turned out, it was great to put faces to Twitter usernames and blogs.
I created some fun gift bags that included assorted headbands with unique details such as feather, bows, beads and glitter, various earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and a $25 gift certificate to Blush Boutique. We also had a raffle and gave away a gorgeous sheer black over-sized cardigan!

One of the first to arrive has one of my favorite Twitter accounts and pretty much talks about one of my favorite things: food. Her blog accounts her dining adventures and more. Be sure to check Shauna of TheMintyout.
First let me say that I am so grateful to be a member of Two Point Oh! LA. This community created by Kelsi Smith, is filled with inspiring bloggers within the Los Angeles area. The events thatTwoPointOhLA create are one-a-kind and an excellent way to network and explore new concepts of fashion and the fashion world.
Thank you to my awesome boyfriend for coming and taking all the pictures.
I met some incredible new people as well as re-connected with some bloggers who I had met at a previous TwoPointOhLA event a few weeks back.
I was pretty unsure of what to wear, and after rummaging through my closet like a fashionista maniac, I remember I had bought a dress specifically for a Turkish-American Ladies League event. The event I was supposed to wear it to got cancelled, so I finally jumped on the chance to rock that frock!
Here’s a funny, and awkward side story:
When I first arrived, I didn’t see any signs of an event. Also, I was invited to a different event, which I declined but never really read WHERE the event was being held in the first place. As I stood by the entrance to the hotel, I hear some ask me “Party nerede?” which is “where’s the party?” in Turkish. Being Turkish, I understood. I replied it was inside. I wondered why she KNEW I was Turkish, and just assumed she followed my blog and had one too.
I walk into the hotel and go to the general bar area by the pool which was filled with people. I heard excitement, laughing, talking, and TURKISH! I had stumbled into the wrong event, the event I had declined to attend, which was a Turkish-American Networking event for those living in Los Angeles….awkward.
All of a sudden, a plethora of people start saying my name and coming up to me. I look at them flabbergasted, “Where am I?”. I see my parent’s friends and I know…this is NOT the TwoPointOhLA pre-fashion week party.
I say some hello’s, answer “Where are your parents?” about five times, and excuse myself.
I must find fashionistas!
I scurry along to the hotel reception and tell them of the party I came here to attend. Apparently, I had to pass the pool par, go through a gate and it was in a subset of the pool bar, a private bar called Rick’s Place. I worked out my red soled shoes and bolted to the event and alas…I see glitz, glamour, and inspiration- my fellow bloggers!
